Carrot Dogs: The Better Meat Alternative

This is a must-have recipe for this year’s Super Bowl. It is so easy to make and only requires boiling, marinating and grilling the carrots. Although there are amazing plant-based alternatives to hot dogs on the market, opting for fresh vegetables is always the best bet. Not only is this the healthiest hot dog out there, it’s really full of flavor and a staple for summer and football season. Try this easy recipe for yourself and tell us what you think!

Ingredients:
8 peeled carrots cut to hot-dog length
About 1 cup liquid aminos, coconut aminos, or Bragg's Apple Cider vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce
Raw agave syrup
2 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped
2 tablespoons liquid smoke

Directions:
1. Boil carrots in water until a fork can penetrate halfway into the thickest part of the carrot.
2. Remove carrots and let cool.
3. Add carrots to a large Ziploc bag and add all ingredients. Seal and let sit for at least 4 hours, overnight if possible.
4. Remove and grill over high heat.
5. Serve in a bun and top with vegan chili or other toppings. Enjoy!
